Friday was pretty much the funniest bonenkai I’ve ever been to. I went in on Friday convinced that nothing could top last year’s creampuff to the face extravaganza but when they turned the lights off, Ricky Martin started playing and the MC turned up dressed as Hard Gay I (rightly) figured that all bets were off.

Most amusing soundbite of the night: Dave trying to explain that there was no difference between a “hard gay” and a “normal gay” because it was just a comedian’s made-up name. Invented. Not real. The other party was insisting that because he was described as hard then there must therefore follow that there is some other more moderate kind of gentleman that dresses up in slightly longer leather pants (but perhaps still runs around Osaka yelling sei sei) and who is referred to as a normal gay. I’m glad I avoided that one.

Later in the evening, they made us dress up as reindeer and prance around. It made for some very funny photos, especially when everyone started trying on the reindeer gimp masks. Afterwards everyone headed to the Hub and got rather more trashed. A grand evening.
