Okay, mate?

Okay! Now I’m going to write something about a rather disturbing trend I’ve noticed. Okay? Alright. So, it seems that sometime during the past three years, in the desperate quest for student feedback, I’ve acquired the habit of starting and finishing every sentence with “Okay.” Okay? I fear that this will be a tough habit to break and, upon my return to the great flat land where people talk funny, I shall be shunned and really, that’s not okay. I do have a plan, and this plan involves forcefully substituting every “Okay” for a “Mate” and suddenly, mate, those sentences sound acceptable, mate. But mate, let me tell you, it’s going to be a tough transition period.
