I’d finished my run and lay wheezing on the beach, looking out towards Rotto. I still planned to go for swim, even though the wind was cold and the water looked colder; the only people foolish enough to be in the water a scattering of surfers in wetsuits. But I was burning up, and even though it was cold I needed to immerse myself.
New song.
Someone threw me a copy of the new Chemical Brothers single, We Are The Night, the other day. It clambers and drives and at one stage I was sure I heard gulls amongst the drums. I looked up, and the single gull that had been pirouetting above me struck off toward the car park, as three yellow sopwith camels made lazy left turns far above.
We are the bright eyes.
