All in black

NINJA! is Akasaka is a gimmick, but it’s a good one. The decor is done well and the food, while small, is incredibly delicious. The tuna towers were to die for and the sushi some of the best I’ve ever eaten. We could have done with more Ninja trickery, but we surmised that getting there after 11pm on a Saturday evening probably meant we were scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of waiters’ energy reserves: Ninjas get tired too. As we left, fussing with umbrellas under a leaden sky, I turned back to have one last look at the innocuous doorway in the middle of a blank grey wall, only to see a figure clad in black explode from the door and drop into a crouch, and unfurl a long banner. Please come again.

If I ever get back to Tokyo, maybe I will.

Please ask a NINJA!
